Good Monday Morning Coffee everyone ☺️! Welcome to a new week, a new day, and a new encouraging conversation with me, Kenya! How is everyone doing on the amazing day? I, myself am doing great, even with the Texas heat, lol! Now, if you’re ready to start the conversation, then grab your favorite yummy drink ☕️, and let’s start the discussion.

So, for today’s conversation I want to discuss being spiritual rather than religious. I, like many others have felt the need to do a list of things in order to win the favor of God. I have done so many religious activities and gave so much but I still felt unsatisfied with my relationship with God.

Its Done…….
Although we have read the account of Jesus dying on the cross, shedding his blood for mankind, and even saying it’s finished, many of us don’t get it. It’s finished, it’s done, the requirement for sin was dealt with once and for all. This means that Jesus has done all the work and all we need to do is honor that work by excepting that Jesus did it for us. I remember giving so much money to a ministry that I was a part of until I almost lost my house. I remember trying to buy the presence of God. I remember thinking that if I fasted and fasted and fasted that I for share was going to get some browny points from the Lord but now I know that my thinking was totally messed up. Now, I’m not saying giving and fasting should not be done but what I am conveying is, that those things will not save you nor will they make God do something for you.
Spiritual not religious….
Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.
Galatians 6:10

So, after Jesus paid the sacrifice, the Holy Spirit was given so we can become a new creation. The new man, “the Kainos life”, you are a new creation. You are no longer from this world but from heaven, hence, born again. You are no longer earthly minded but heavenly minded, you are no longer led by your flesh, the doctrine of devils, and the traditions of men, but now you are lead by God’s Holy Spirit. When you are born again, you are now operating from the spiritual realm. In order to really be able make a greater difference and have a greater impact against the kingdom of darkness you must yield to the leading of the Holy Spirit. A couple of years ago I was filled with the Holy Spirit and by the help of the Spirit I am learning that in the Kingdom of God things work differently. Also, importantly leaders in the body of Christ have helped me come out of religion and helped me with the understanding how extremely important intimacy with Jesus should be held up as first place in my life. Although I knew that a relationship with Jesus was important I did not completely rest in that. I didn’t rest in the finish work of Christ.

You are Loved and Accepted……
I think this is where many stumble. I know I had an issue in this area and this is why in the past I put a lot of emphasis on the works of the flesh. Now, I understand that Jesus just wants me to be. He wants me to be aware of Him, enjoy Him, and rest in Him. I had to unravel from the old man’s thinking. Although I knew that resting in Jesus was the right thing, in the beginning it was hard because I felt I should be in a performance mode. All the Lord wants you to do is delight in Him and follow Him. It’s all about a personal relationship. Also its about manifesting the Holy Spirit by yielding your body, voice, or whatever to the Lord. The church is the Lord’s body and Jesus is the head, so you have to let go of control. This relationship is like a wife submitting to her husband. This means you have to get out of your mind and get out of the way. This also means that your agenda should not override what the Holy Spirit wants to do. At times you may feel uncomfortable because you may look foolish and people may look at you crazy (and they will) but as for me, I would not have it any other way.
But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
1 Cor 1:27

We are not called to look or speak intellectually but we are called to manifest God’s glory. Now if you are gifted with an eloquent speech then praise God but don’t let that keep you from getting out the way and out of your mind. There are so many “church buildings” that have become social clubs and they are full of hypocrisy, no manifestion of the Spirit of God, and with people who think going to “church” is badge of honor but they are not really living the life that Christ died for them to experience. Many are not even sensitive to the Spirit and that is a huge sad problem. They rather stick with their own agenda and program than allow the the Holy Spirit to take control so people can have their own personal encounters with God. If you are going to a “church” with the same dry day in and day out theme then for the sake of your spiritual condition leave and seek the Lord and find those who are allowing God to have His way. The below link is the ministry that can help you in your relationship with Lord. (https://www.youtube.com/@streetministriesseven)
So to conclude, you are called to be spiritual not religious. You are called to be an ambassador of the Kingdom of Heaven and the only way you are going to be able to do this is by having intimacy with Jesus, learning to drink 🍷 from Him, yielding to the Holy Spirit, and manifesting the Holy Spirit!!! Please consider this thought: when earth encounters heaven, it may look unfamiliar and it will be powerful, so sometimes when people manifest God in a strange way it will look very different and even make some onlookers uncomfortable.
Side Note: The only striving you should be doing is entering into the rest of God.
