So, for today’s conversation I want to discuss the topic called “Keeping It Simple”. Have you ever found yourself going on and on about a situation. I have, but I am learning that there is a better way.

As I have talked to some of the brethren, I am hearing how they are feeling super frustrated and overwhelmed about certain situations, I also feel that these things are only overwhelming because we either forget that life is not perfect or we are making things more bigger than they have to be. Most things can be easily be settled, especially when we bring it to the Lord. Recently I was feeling frustrated but instead of having a pity party or going down the rabbit hole path, I spoke to the Lord and He gave me the answer that I needed which I was able to refer back to while moving forward.

Another thing I am finding interesting is how we like to ride things out and get other people involved. Wise counsel is super important but sometimes we already have the answer that we need to settle an issue without involving so many other people but instead we want to draw out further. In the past I went through a period where I felt very alone. Although I would share with others, there was no one who I could relate to and so I found that God was my only hope and ear that I could share my issues with. God has the best answers 100% of the time. As time has gone by I have come to the wonderful reality that when I bring all my cares to Him I receive just what I need, whether it is comfort or answers.

I find that not only spending time with the Lord brings more clarity and simplicity to life problems but also journaling as well. These two combinations are amazing especially when you really need to get something off your chest. When we get thoughts that tap powerfully into our emotions and we share them, usually there’s no rehearsal time. When we share them with others, all those emotions come out with explosive energy. Sharing those thoughts with the Lord and journaling first is super important because God will give you the comfort, confidence, and a better perspective on those thoughts. He loves us so much and longs to help us and make us better. He’s the greatest friend. So when sharing my cares with the Lord first always makes sharing with others (if I chose too) less emotional and includes a powerful lesson and change that I receive from my time with the Lord instead of me just sharing overwhelming complaints with others.

The Greatest of them All….

The most amazing part of spending time with the Lord is the DRINK. One thing I keep in mind is that this was not always my norm and there are so many other people who are drowning in sorrow and horrible situations without the DRINK. I can not mention this enough because this is what changes everything. When I am stress out and feeling weary I know that all I have to do is sit and enjoy the Lord. I am not at the mercy of my enemies or my emotions, you do not have to be either. It is important to protect your peace. From my experience, whenever I draw out an issue for to long, that issue can get in my head which can effect my intimate time with the Lord. Instead of me relaxing in God’s presence my mind is overwhelmed with the make believe arguments. You know those full blown conversations that we have that may never be spoken out loud, lol! So, this is why it is important to make sure that you keep it simple. Remember it’s better to resolve an issue at the lower level and be done with it so you can protect your peace and protect the peace of others. All though sharing with the brethren is an amazing privilege, I do not want to overwhelmed them. If they care for you, then what hurts you will hurt them as well so keep that in mind.

So to conclude, keep it simple, protect your peace and enjoy the joy of the Lord. If you are able to Drink from the Lord, your are really in an amazing place because there are so many others who are not. Learn to see the wins in your life and this will help you to not give the bad circumstances in life so much attention. Remember you only can do what you can do and Lord willing enjoying the Joy of the Lord is one of them.

Side Note: Remember keep at the lowest level to protect your peace.
