Good Monday Morning Coffee everyone☺️! I hope all is great with everybody. As for me, I’m well! Having a great time fellowshipping with the brethren and being able to prayer for others, but above all else, I’m enjoying my time in the secret place. So, I welcome you to a new day, a new week, and an encouraging conversation with me, Kenya! Now if you are ready, then grab you morning drink ☕️, and let’s start the conversation.

So, for today’s conversation I want to speak about using our talents and gifts. I believe God has given us all amazing gifts and talents. Some may be easier to spot out than others but we all have been given something to bring God glory and help our neighbor as well.

Usually when I spend time with others, I start to notice some great qualities and characteristics in others. I have a couple friends who have a lot of wisdom when it comes to parenting. One in particular has really had a positive influence on how I raised my daughter. She showed me things that I was not aware of from my own upbringing and experiences, that I needed to implement into my parenting. Also, I know of others that I find to be great in the area of teaching and many other things and so no matter the gift I often share with them what I am perceiving and how they should further these gifts and talents in away that many others can benefit from them. Unfortunately, when I share they seem to fall on deaf ears.

I remember playing a game called block heads. Each block head would come with items into their world to help them on their journey. When I would play this game, I would compare it to us men and women whom the Lord create. I would think that our existence was similar because we all have special abilities that we are born with and as well as what we have acquired along the way. So we all have something that the Lord has giving us to help us on our journey of life. So when I hear so many complaining about their situations, I share ideas that involve their gifts and talents which should be used to help them out of their situation. A couple years ago I wanted to change my situation, I believe there is so much more to the gifts and talents that God placed in me and so I decided to work on furthering them as much as I can. One of the ways that I have further my gifts is through blogging and book writing. Many have shared that I have encouraged them and so I decided to further my reach. But I don’t just want to stop there but I want bring encouragement into other arenas and basically go as far as I can go. No Limits!
14 “For it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted to them his property. 15 To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability. Then he went away. 16 He who had received the five talents went at once and traded with them, and he made five talents more. 17 So also he who had the two talents made two talents more. 18 But he who had received the one talent went and dug in the ground and hid his master’s money.
Matthew 25:14-30

While in pray, Mathew 25 came to me. When I think about that scripture, I think “O Lord, I don’t want to be that lazy wicked servant who hid his gifts based on wrong thinking and fear”. I remember before posting anything on IG, Youtube, or starting this blog, I shared with a friend that I did not want to post on social media unless the Lord said so. Today I think my thinking was over the top. First off my heart is to please the Lord and I also want to encourage others which is both pleasing to the Him. If anything, I was making God out to be someone who is just waiting for me to get it wrong so He could punish me. My friend, that type of thinking is not from the Lord but from satan. If God has given you talents and gifts, then don’t let them lay dormant, but use them for God’s glory. The servants who received the five and two talents didn’t just wait for every single detail before they moved, no they received them and set out to double those talents which shows me that God gave us not only the talents and gifts but He trusts that we have the capabilities to do so much more with them. I believe that many of us are having issues because we want God to hold our hand and do every single thing. We are afraid of getting it wrong but if you get it wrong the Lord is able to redirect you. As God’s child you are fearfully and wonderfully made and on top of that you have the Holy Spirit. So you have so much potential for greatness. I also think about King Solomon who was given wisdom which resulted in his kingdom being immensely blessed. Everyone that was an apart of that Kingdom benefitted from Solomon’s gift of wisdom. Wow!!!! I don’t know about you but I want those around me to be blessed because of what God has placed in me as well.
So to conclude, just sitting on your talents and gifts is tragic. Some may think what I’m saying is about greed but it is not. It is about recognizing that God gave you something that He wants you to use to its fullest. It’s no different than when we give someone a gift only to find out that they never even took it out of the box (ridiculous). So, just imagine how that may look to the Lord.
Side Note: A gift opens the way and ushers the giver into the presence of the great -Proverbs 18:16
Monday Morning Coffee Question: It what ways can you use your gifts and talents?
So remember to take it one day at a time, stay encouraged in the Lord, and remember that God loves you soooo much, so remember to love Him back!
