Staying Away from Formulas.

Good Monday Morning Coffee everybody☺️! How are you all doing today? As for me, I’m getting ready for the Cali glory gathering. I’m so excited and anticipating some amazing experiences in the glory. Also, I’m working on some other projects which I’m hoping to share them with you all very soon. So now, let me welcome you to a new day, a new week, and another encouraging conversation with me, Kenya. Now, if you are ready then grab your morning drink ☕️, and let’s get into the conversation.

So, for today conversation I want to discuss why we need to stay away from formulas. Many people and churches are stuck in a program mindset. This leaves no room for the Holy Spirit to move as He would like and if there is room, its still very much limited.

Have you ever found yourself thinking this thought “if I do exactly what another person did, I am certain to ended up with the same results”. I think most of us can say yes. But unfortunately when we did not received those expected results we were frustrated and angry. I remember following a woman who was very religious but at that time I was too, so much so that I got rid of all my pants, jewelry, stuff animals, certain shoes, covered my head and even put my daughter through the same nonsense. Also this young lady said that we should not braid, cut, or twist our hair, then one day she said the Lord told her to cut her hair. I was very hurt and angry because I followed her, assuming that she was on point with the Lord, only for her to say the contrary. At that point I knew I needed to really seek what the Lord would have me do rather than doing something because some else was doing it.

At the end of the day I wanted an intimate relationship with the Lord and the book of Acts church experience. I wanted to be led by the Holy Spirit. So at that point I gave up on trying the religious way, I focus more on spending time with Him, I kept it simple, and trusted that God had me and if I would get it wrong, He would redirect me. I believe that was the best decision because it led me to a ministry that is all about intimacy and yielding to the Holy Spirit. Plus my relationship and my spirit man has grown greatly. A couple weekends ago, me and some other sisters went out to pray and it was so fruitful and so much fun. Much of the time when we were praying for others we where not really saying much. To some it looked and felt awkward but I can feel the Holy Spirit very strongly at those moments. After awhile a young man came up to us saying he wanted prayer to. With his eyes looking glossy he said that the Lord was telling him to tell us that the way we are praying was the right spiritual way. It was encouraging because sometimes I would get in my head about how some may be looking at me but as long as God is pleased, thats what’s up.

The point that I want to make is that we really at times be doing too much and God is not asking for us to do all those things. When we went out to pray in a yielded manner it was super effective because we made room for the Spirit to move. The other day Dustin who is also known as street ministry 7, whom the Lord using to lead and build the RPA (God’s Red Pill Army) said that if you are looking for a formula then the only formula he would recommend is starting in the secret place and from there everything else flows. Although the title of this blog is called “Staying away from Formulas”, if you are still looking for one, that would be the only one I would recommend as well. In the secret place you learning that its about a relationship, you are learning His voice, and resting from all your works in order to be a vessel for the Holy Spirit to move through. We are becoming His hands, mouthpiece, and feet. We are here to facilitate encounters with the Lord not with us. So we should be witnesses to what the Lord is doing with that person. So to conclude, it’s time to really rely on the Lord and trust that He knows exactly what that person needs. Sometimes we are too worried about what the the other person may be thinking but learn to surrender those thoughts to the Lord.

Side Note: Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, say’s the Lord of host – Zechariah 4:6
