So let me ask you a few questions. Have you being feeling trapped?

Do you feel like your making decisions out of fear?

Are your actions guised by the “I am just doing the right thing” even though you hate or disagree with what you’re doing? Jesus said:

Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Matthew 11:29

He also said:

Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

John 5:15

What would your life look like if you chose to do only what you saw Jesus doing? What would it look like if you made it a point to rest in Jesus and started seeking what He wanted you to do? It’s time to question the motives behind your actions. Is it truly something you really want to do, is it from the goodness of your heart or is it a form of people pleasing. When I stopped going to a church that I attended for about 7 years, I felt the Peace of God. Before walking away from that church, the Lord was showing me a lot of things. I started to realize that I was only fulfilling someone else’s dreams. From that moment in my life I no longer wanted to do things in order to avoid making someone feel bad or upset. I stop worrying about those things cause if I am consumed with those things then I would not fulfill what are the thoughts that God has for me. I want to fulfill the calling on my life.

I challenge you to really start considering what your reasons are for doing what you’re doing. One thing you have to be sure of is when you’re doing something for someone, will you eventually be resentful about it later? Will there be regret and unrest about it later? God wants us to be free and that is even in your giving. I remember giving so much that my car was eventually repossessed and I almost lost my house as well. I was giving unwisely and under compulsion, you know those mind games that those “preachers” like to do. Like the first fruit offering type of stuff, knowing that I didn’t have it to give, I still gave out of fear of missing out on “the Blessing”. That was not the Lord but greed, misuse of scripture, fear mongering, and just me being dumb. It’s okay to ask God what’s really going on and not even participate, especially if you don’t agree or have it. There has been many times when the Lord has place on my heart what to give. I remember Him even giving me the money to give, He gives seed to the sower. I’m continuing to learning to to let go and trust God in the area of giving. I trust God that he will lead me in this area. All those life lessons will not go unlearned.

Let go of fear, manipulation, and people pleasing. I believe it is important to really be free in the above areas mention because God wants us to be free to be led by Him and fully embrace the amazing things that are coming upon us and through the church (His Body) but if we are focused on the doing business as usual motto, staying bound by religious activities, and people pleasing were not going to be in a position to recognize those things.

Side Note: Be free!

Monday question: What are your thoughts on today’s conversation?
