Hi lovely people, hope you are all enjoy this long weekend. I know I am. Also the weather is finally cooling down 🙌🏾! Now its time for today’s conversation. So grab your yummy drink and let’s get started.
Have you ever prayed a specific, heartfelt prayer to the Lord? Maybe it was for a new career, a certain place to live, or freedom from a difficult situation. You asked, you believed, and you waited. But then, as time passed, it felt like you were doing and experiencing everything but the thing you asked for.
You may have found yourself on a path that seems completely unrelated to your desired destination. What I’ve learned from my own journey is this: there are often other things that need to take place before you get to your final destination and receive the full answer to your prayer.
The Purpose of the Detour
I feel that God isn’t only interested in you receiving a “yes” to your prayer. He is also deeply invested in the people you will meet along the way—those you will minister to and those who will uplift you in your own journey. Perhaps the lessons you are learning now are exactly what you will need to help someone who is just a few steps behind you.
This is why our journey with the Lord is often more like a scenic route than a straight highway. God knows the destination, and He knows the best path to get us there. But unlike us, He doesn’t just want us to sit in the car and speed straight to the end without meeting anyone. He likes to do some sightseeing.
He wants you to look at your surroundings, talk to the people you meet, and share your story of encouragement to help them along their own way. He is crafting a tapestry of connections and growth, and you are a vital thread in it.
Trusting His Higher Way
You may have prayed a specific prayer years ago and still haven’t seen it manifest in your life. You feel like you’re doing all the right things, but you’re receiving other answers besides what you actually prayed for. But a time will come when you will realize that when you get to that final destination, when you see the thing you’ve been asking for, you will understand that God was indeed leading you the whole time. It just wasn’t in the way you thought He should do it.
Remember, as it says in Isaiah 55:8-9, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
He knows how to get you there, and He knows the best path for you to take. The process and the journey are just as important as the destination itself. So trust the process, embrace the detours, and know that you are right where you need to be.
So until next time, have a beautiful, blessed day and bye for now!
