Living in Texas gave me the privilege of enjoying several spectacular firework shows from the comfort of my apartment balcony, and I must say, the view was very nice. Following God Is So Worth IT
As I walk this incredible journey with the Lord Jesus Christ, I’ve had the profound opportunity to witness a powerful truth: God will not let you be put to shame if you follow Him wholeheartedly. The very reason I’m writing this blog post today is to share a deep conviction with you. If you continue in your walk with the Lord, nurturing a sincere desire to please Him, you will unequivocally see that following Him is incredibly, overwhelmingly worth it.
Enduring Trials and Trusting His Promises
My own life has been marked by numerous trials and seasons of intense testing. There were moments when the enemy, cunning and deceptive, would try to lure me with the “easy way out.” It felt like a tempting shortcut, a quick fix to pressing problems. But deep down, a persistent whisper always reminded me that something far better awaited me, and I absolutely did not want to miss out on what God had planned.
I’ve come to believe that time is a powerful canvas upon which God paints His unwavering faithfulness. It’s through the passage of days, weeks, and years that His promises truly shine, proving that His way is, without a doubt, the best way. So, if you’re feeling like your life is exceptionally hard right now, and if you hold onto the belief that God has something more for you, then please, hang in there. Because the truth is, He genuinely does have something far greater in store for you.
Discerning the Distractions
It’s crucial to be mindful and careful when the Lord is revealing something about a particular person or situation. And equally important is to be discerning when the enemy tries to offer the exact opposite perspective. The Lord often uses these moments to help you learn patience and to wait on Him.
During those trying times of testing, I distinctly remember opportunities the enemy dangled in front of me, much like a carrot to a horse. These were insidious temptations, disguised as solutions, trying to persuade me to veer onto a different, seemingly easier, path. Yet, despite my incredibly difficult circumstances at the time, the Lord was consistently impressing upon me that this was not a good path. He gave me the spiritual discernment to see past the immediate relief these “solutions” offered.
I chose to stand firm on what I believed: that the Lord had something profoundly better for me. I could have easily taken the path of least resistance, settling for something that might have offered temporary relief, even if that person or thing seemed to genuinely help my situation. But because of my conviction that God had something immeasurably superior, I chose not to take it. I knew, with absolute certainty, that if I succumbed to the enemy’s allure, I would indeed be lacking something vital in the long run.
Don’t Miss Out on God’s Best
And so, I’m sharing this with you today as a heartfelt warning and encouragement. Be mindful that the enemy will often dangle an “easy fix” – a temptation – right in front of you. When you’re feeling desperate, it’s incredibly easy to think, “Well, I should just take the easy way out.” But please, don’t do it. Because in doing so, you will indeed miss out on what God has for you, which is infinitely better than anything the enemy is trying to give you. Don’t let your flesh, your immediate desires for comfort or escape, take you off the path of the Lord.
Remember this unwavering truth: in time, you will see with your own eyes that God is faithful, and that His Word is true. Trust His timing, trust His plan, and hold firm to His promises. So until next time have a beautiful, blessed day and bye for now!
