Good Monday Morning Coffee everybody ☺️! Welcome to a new day, a new week, and another encouraging conversation with me, Kenya! I hope everyone is having a beautiful morning. So, now if you are ready, then grab something yummy to drink ☕️, and let’s start the conversation!

So, for today’s conversation I would like to tactical the question of “How to work with a purpose”? Since the beginning of September (of last month), I have been on a new journey and I would like to just first say that I am grateful and so excited. This journey, only by God’s grace, has open my eyes to new possibilities that I did not even consider but now I see there is more.

You see, since the beginning of this year I have been feeling like I have not been spending adequate time with God. Now many of us can relate to this. There are many who have jobs and children and perhaps other commitments that are taking every hour from you. Not to mention that when you do finally get some time to your self, you only want to relax and go to sleep. Well, if this is you, I can understand how more time would be wonderful, but this was not the case for me. As a matter of fact, I was not working at all, my daughter is 19, and I have no responsibilities to any animals (lol). The Lord had increase my income and I had all the hours in the day and even at night to spend time with God. It was as if I was retired, lol! So, I would take my time and wake up around 9am and then make my coffee and sit in His presence and just enjoy Him. In the evening, before bed I would do the same, but I still felt like it was not enough. I kept having the persistent thought that spending time with God at 5am was the best time for me. I even tested the thought and said perhaps 430am would be even better but no 5am stayed with me. And so for this past September I started this new routine.

Okay, so before we go any further, you might be wondering, “So what happen?” or “Did you have some type amazing encounter”? And the answer would be yes and no. First, just let me put this out there, every encounter is amazing with God but no, I did not go to heaven or something like that. But what did happen was God started leading and encouraging to be more intentional in every area of my life. It started with just getting up faithfully (only because He wanted me to) and spending time with Him, next it went to me changing my eating habits, then taking control over my finances, and to even start thinking bigger about other amazing possibilities for my future (like what kind of legacy do I want to leave behind). Before this new season, I was not being as intentional as I should have been. This was due to not writing out my goals and having habits that would support this specific vision but now that I have written them down and I have my new habits, I am laser focused. And since I am laser focused, I am aware of those things that are helpful and not helpful. I can now be selective in what I choose to invest my time and my energy into.

Let me challenge you today to think about where you are in life and how did you get there? Were you intentional? Or did you just let life happen? Are you satisfied with where you are? Or do you believe there is a more? During this new season, I started to re-evaluate myself and realize that there is so much more in me and I want every talent and gift to be revealed. Although some would think that I am doing pretty well and that I should just relax but I believe that I would be missing out on so much more. Perhaps you can relate. If so, I challenge you today to not just settle. Don’t allow those gifts and talents to be wasted. First go to God and seek Him and allow Him to show you your purpose, gifts, and talents.
So in conclusion, today’s conversation was just a means to get you think about your life. Are you really were you want to be? Is there any other area of your life that you believe needs to be changed? I believe that most of us are just settling out of convenience but the sad part may be when we reach the end of our lives, we may be left with regret. So take some time today to take inventory of yourself and bring your finding unto the Lord.
Side Note: Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. -Proverbs 3:5-6
