Chosen.

Have you ever been chosen to be on a team? How did it make you feel? Have you ever as a child been new to a neighborhood and some children invited you to come play with them? Now how did that make you feel? I am pretty sure you were happy and you also felt accepted on both occasions. Now how did you feel about being chosen to be apart of the Kingdom of God? Did you feel special or accepted? Maybe currently you may not. We all go through those times where we may feel more like we are left out, then chosen. The truth is no matter how you may feel though, you are chosen! It is important that we meditate on that truth as well as the rest of what God has said to us whether it is from the bible, to our hearts, or by someone given us a word from the Lord.

How to stand a chosen man or woman of God?

When we became apart of the Kingdom of God we became a royal priesthood, a chosen generation, a holy nation, and a peculiar people (1Peter 2:9). How exciting! This means that we will no longer blend in with the ways of the world. Now sometimes we can become overwhelmed with the world due to it’s pulls on our flesh (the old man’s desires) but we have to continue to resist those temptations. So how do we continue to stand as a chosen priesthood? Well my sister and brother, you have to everyday chose to follow Jesus by reminding yourself of who you are. You also have to take inventory of your life each day as well. The apostle Paul tells us that we need to examine ourselves and test ourselves to make sure that we are really in the faith. (2Cor.13:5). Also Paul shared that he keeps his body/fleshly desires under control to make sure that he would not become lost (1Cor. 9:27) These scriptures explain how the chosen people of God do not walk casually in this life but they walk with caution.

So what does this life look like.

Now may I ask you to not misunderstand me, please🙏. The life of a follower of Jesus Christ is not a boring life but it is a life that I have found to be rewarding. There are a lot of benefits that we have received, namely salvation and the forgiveness of our sins. Another benefit is that you can now walk wisely. You can now see clearly the reality of just how terrible living a sinful life is. After some time has gone by, there should be evidence to you and those around you that you are different. Your purpose and choices should now be a reflection of who you are in Jesus. We can see just how immoral the world is. Our lives should be contrary to the world’s ways. Your morals, your standards, how you treat your body, and how you treat others should always represent your new life in Christ.

Conclusion.

So now that we have discussed some of the ways the chosen men and women of God should not only stand out but the awesome benefits that come with this new life I want to ask you a question. How do you feel about being chosen to be apart of the Kingdom of God? Maybe before, you were discouraged but I hope you are now excited and grateful. I want to remind you that we all experience low seasons in our walk but try to stay encouraged in the Lord. Remember that if God has chosen you then he will keep you but you have to do your part. Stay humble and do everything with integrity.
