Work Out Your Own Salvation!

Good Tuesday Morning Coffee everyone😊! I hope everyone had an awesome weekend. As for me, I had a great weekend and I also would like to share some awesome news that I shared in my Monday Morning Coffee blog that I would like to share it here as well. This pass Friday my daughter graduated from high school🎈🎆. I am so grateful for and proud of her🤗. I also praise God because I know that God is ultimately the One who sought us both through these years🙌. Now we can get into our encouraging conversation. So I hope you have your favorite morning drink☕ and let’s start the conversation.

Your Own!

In today’s conversation I would like for us to look at our own salvation! As a Christian I believe part of our walk with Jesus will be influenced by other believers. Of course this is a good thing. In the book of Ephesians 4:8-11 it explains that the body of Christ Jesus (the church) is given gifts for our edification. The gifts that are mentioned here are apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers, this is the five fold ministry of the church. These gifts are given by God to bring His Church into perfection. God is so good because He wants all His people to mature in the faith but sometimes we can become wrap up in following another human being that we may start to ignore the voice of the Holy Spirit.

If you have the Holy Spirit then You have God within you. Jesus said in John 14:26 that the Holy Spirit will teach you all things so even though we have the five fold ministry of the church I believe we are not solely to rely only upon it. The reason why is because our relationship with Jesus is a personal relationship. This is based on your intimacy with Jesus and what Jesus is instructing you to do.

Intimacy with Jesus.

Depending on how long you have been a Christian I believe you at least once in your life or on many occasions, have known people who you have believed that they were the model Christian but then something about their life was exposed that was contrary to the word of God. Perhaps you felted very let down. Or maybe God has told you to do something or stop doing something but then you look at other brothers and sisters in the faith who are not following the same instruction that you had received. In these cases we may start to question God or question if we really heard from Him. I believe this is part of the reason why we are called to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling. In Philippians 2:12 it also says “always obey so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence”. So we are not always going to have a human being reminding us because that is one of the things that the Holy Spirit will do. Jesus wants us to overall follow Him and trust Him. Jesus wants us to have an intimate relationship with Him. He wants you to get to know Him like a bride getting to know her husband. If you are trying to build a relationship with Jesus through someone else then unfortunately you will eventually hit a road block. One of the most important things that we need to keep in mind is that we are all individuals with individual choices with individual consequences.

In Matthew 7:21-23 Jesus said something that is so scary, He basically said to those who were casting out demons and prophesying in His name to depart from Him because he never knew them. So even though you may have His Spirit that does not equal intimacy. So your relationship with Jesus is what matters at the end of the day. If Jesus saved you then He also desires closeness with you too.

In Conclusion.

So in conclusion, God has provide us with gifts to help build us up but intimacy is very important. We can not base our relationship solely on another human being but we have to pray, fast, read the word of God, and follow His leading. There will be times where God may ask you to do something that maybe the Christian leaders in you life are not doing. When you have a intimate relationship with Jesus then you really will not be worried or concerned with what others may think or say because you know whom you serve. So my friend maybe you can see that you have errored in this area, well if you have breath in your lungs still you can seek intimacy with Jesus today…so remember, take one day at a time and be blessed!
